ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
- Chris Gelnaw is an angel investor and independent consulting professional. She optimizes early-stage and mid-market companies focusing on product/market fit, market sizing and creating frameworks/systems around product launches. Chris leverages her prior experiences as an accelerator program manager, market research consultant, entrepreneur and management consultant at KPMG Consulting, and as a banker at JPMorgan Chase, to deliver actionable insights and strategies to companies at various stages of growth and across multiple sectors.
- Galia Gichon is an independent personal financial expert with more than 20 years in financial services, including nearly 10 years on Wall Street and an MBA in Finance. Her career has spanned corporate bond research analyst, personal finance expert, angel investor, entrepreneur advisor and author. As an angel investor, she actively supports women led and impact start ups. She is the Founder of Down to Earth Finance, independent personal finance education. She has been teaching at Barnard College’s Athena Center for Leadership and Freelancers Union for 10+ years. She has been widely quoted in The New York Times, NBC, CNN, and more. Previously, she worked at Bear Stearns and Nomura Securities. Galia is also the author of “My Money Matters” which was featured on TODAY SHOW, the author of a fiction novel “The Accidental Suffragist,” and co-host of the popular podcast “Fiscal Firecrackers” with leading actress Susan Yeagley – Funny Finally Meets Money.
- Christine Sullivan is a consultant at the CT Small Business Development Center. She enjoys helping entrepreneurs and small business owners achieve their next milestone. Whether it’s developing a business plan or finding the right source of capital, Christine can help advise on the best plan to achieve the company’s short- and long-term goals. Prior to joining CTSBDC, Christine worked in investment banking for nearly 20 years where she focused on technology and food and beverage companies. During her career, she realized how rewarding it was to work with earlier stage businesses where you could see that your advice was having a real impact on the company’s growth and success. With a passion for organic and natural food, Christine spent two years working for Revolution Foods, a b-corp focused on providing healthy school lunches to schools in low income communities. Her interest in healthy food and innovative food business ideas continues and she loves experiencing the exciting Connecticut foodie scene!
- Alison Malloy As a director of investments at CT Innovations, Alison is responsible for sourcing new technology investment opportunities, leading deals and accelerating portfolio companies. She is also the Managing Director of the Executive in Residence (EIR) program, responsible for accelerating the growth of the portfolio companies. Alison has a strong background in financial management, sales, strategy and raising capital. She serves on the executive board of the Connecticut Venture Group, and is a regular speaker and member at several entrepreneur organizations, including Golden Seeds, The Refinery and Springboard Enterprises. Alison graduated from Boston College, is a dual citizen, is an avid racer of sailboats, and lives in Stamford with her husband and two children.
